Funga's Land Partnerships

Funga’s work is made possible by our land partners—at every step. Partners in our soil sampling program enable our extensive R&D process that creates region-specific inoculant prescriptions. Partners who host field trials allow us to test and observe dozens of inoculants to find those that reliably promote growth and improve survival. And most significantly, land partners who enroll in our carbon project enable us to restore soil biodiversity on a large scale, improving forest ecosystems and environmental outcomes.

If you manage or own Loblolly timberland in the Southeastern U.S., we invite you to explore active partnership opportunities with Funga. Your participation provides the essential foundation for the next generation of forest productivity. Together, we can build a more sustainable future where thriving commercial yields and restored soil biodiversity secure the long-term resilience of our Southern forests.

Join Our Soil Sampling Program

High Impact, Low Commitment

To build region-specific "inoculant prescriptions," our scientists need data. By allowing Funga to sample your soil, you help us map the microbial communities that drive forest health.

What this means for you:

  • One Visit: Our team takes a small sample of your soil for analysis.

  • Zero Interference: Sampling does not disrupt your daily land management or operations.

  • No Long-Term Ties: This is a one-time contribution to vital ecological research.

The impact: Our innovative soil restoration technology becomes more accurate and effective, advancing southern forestry.

Enroll in Our Southern Pine Carbon Program

Maximum Value: Increased Yields and Revenue

Funga’s Southern Pine Carbon program was built for landowners. Plugging into existing replanting practices, our inoculation takes place at the nursery—you receive seedlings as usual, plant them as usual, and manage them as usual. The result is trees that grow more, survive better, and offer private landowners diversified revenue over the entire first rotation.

What this means for you:

  • Seamless Integration: Inoculation happens at the nursery. There is minimal change to your planting, management, and harvesting practices.

  • Financial Incentives: Benefit from potential seedling discounts during the enrollment phase.

  • Increased Productivity: Our fungal inoculants are designed to improve yield and seedling survival.

  • New Revenue Stream: Receive carbon lease payments starting in Year 3.

The impact: Our soil restoration is deployed at a large scale, creating healthier, more productive pine forests across thousands of acres.
